Watercolor & Eden Garden State Park
These are some of the most beautiful locations along 30A! If you are looking for timeless images with stunning green hues, Watercolor and Eden Garden State Park are my top two recommendations. Watercolor can accommodate beach portraits, water features like Cerulean park, and blooming garden backdrops with an abundance of naturally lush green nature-scapes to make this location extra special. Eden Gardens State Park is just off of 30a, and our go-to for families who aren’t in love with the beach, but want something instead that showcases beautiful greens with classic architecture!
Seaside
Probably one of the most famous locations among the world’s most popular beaches is Seaside. This stunning beach town is full of coastal charm and whimsy, with pastel hued buildings framed in timeless beachy scenery, this location is perfect for your family if you’re looking for a fresh take on family beach portraits. The architecture is gorgeous! Each building is designed with a cohesive yet unique style, giving the entire town a fun but intentionally designed feeling. One con to this popular place is the amount of people you’ll encounter in the busy season. If your family prefers a more intimate setting, I usually recommend a more private location.
Grayton Beach
Another well-known spot among the locals is dune-filled Grayton Beach. Over the years this rare coastal dune lake has become quite the vacation hotspot! The protected dunes are off limits to pedestrians, and are an integral part of the structure of this natural landscape and its inhabitants, including sea turtles and other wildlife. If you are set on getting these beautiful and rare dunes in your family’s portraits, I am still able to include them in the background of your images, but you won’t catch us stepping foot on these protected areas! To note, this is another area that can be “peopley” during busy season.
Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach
Last but not least are the enduring beach towns of Alys and Rosemary. These locations have it all- coastal architecture, private emerald beaches, personal boardwalks, airy landscapes and cozy, intimate spots that only the most local of photographers can take you (ahem, us!). Alys beach is a private community, and your family can enjoy all this special location for your session only if you are vacationing in or own one of these private beach homes (read their policy here). A fabulous alternative is the town of Rosemary Beach. Both locations are ageless and full of variety for your family photos!
